Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) are viral infections that can lead to serious illness, complications, and even death. In the U.S., children are routinely vaccinated against these diseases starting at 12 to 15 months of age, with a second dose given at 4 to 6 years old.

Doctors at National Clinical Research are studying a new investigational vaccine which is intended to protect against all four illnesses in one shot. This study will compare the investigational vaccine to the currently approved MMRV vaccine to see if they provide the same level of protection and safety.

If your child joins this study, they will receive either the investigational vaccine or the approved MMRV vaccine. All children in the study must have already received their first dose of measles, mumps, rubella, and/or varicella vaccines. This study is designed to determine if the investigational MMRVNS vaccine produces the same protection as the one currently on the market.
